American Oak - Wine Cask Matured
This whisky is the latest in our ex-red wine cask matured releases.
The dual casks for this release were chosen for the complimentary characters they developed as they matured in individual, very small, American Oak casks.
These casks were sourced from a South Australian cooperage. They were recoopered from large barrels that previously held red wine to create 20 litre casks. These small casks have a greater surface area of spirit to wood and are integral to our whisky.
Importantly, the whisky spent the entire maturation in these casks. It was not just "finished" in such casks for a few months before bottling.
The resulting whisky is vibrant, yet astonishingly easy drinking - even at the bold bottling strength of 44.5% a.b.v.
Each bottle is hand labeled, individually numbered and can be signed on request, simply ask in the order notes.
