Sloe Gin Cocktail Recipes

Sloe Gin Over Ice

The purist’s way to drink sloe gin.

Gently pour the Sloe Gin into a tumbler over ice. Enjoy on its own or garnish with lime, lemon or an orange wedge.

Sloe Gin and Tonic

The classic Gin and Tonic has always been the definitive drink on our balmy evenings and sunny days.  Now, it has a rival.

Fill a highball glass with ice. By fill we mean right to the brim, not just one or two little ice cubes. Pour in the sloe gin and top it up with tonic. Stir briefly to combine the two and garnish with orange, lemon, lime strawberry or anything else that you prefer.

You can also substitute the Tonic with Bitter Lemon for an equally easy to make, refreshing summer drink.

Sloe Champagne Fizz

This is a cocktail to impress with.  Nonesuch Sloe Gin also matches wonderfully with Champagne and the egg white delivers a dash of light froth.

Combine the first four ingredients in an empty cocktail shaker without any ice and shake. Make sure you shake before adding in any ice so that the cocktail properly creams.  Now add in some ice and shake again. Strain the mixture into a cocktail glass or a white wine glass and top it up with Champagne.

Sloe Motion

Pour the Sloe Gin into a chilled champagne flute, top it up with Champagne and garnish with a twist of lemon peel. Take care and only use the zest of the lemon as the white pith under the skin will cause the drink to taste bitter.

Sloe Gin Sour

Add the Nonesuch Sloe Gin, simple syrup, lemon juice and egg white in to a shaker.

Shake everything without ice.
When mixed well, add ice and shake again until chilled.
Strain in to a cocktail glass

Put the sloe gin, dry vermouth, and sweet vermouth in a mixing glass filled with ice and stir until well chilled. Then strain into a cocktail glass and Garnish with a lemon twist.

Sloe Charlie Chaplin

This cocktail was originally created in honour of the star of the silent screen.  It might seem as if it will be fairly sweet but the dryness and slight astringency of the Nonesuch Sloe Gin balances out this cocktail perfectly.

Add all three ingredients to an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Finally, garnish with an orange or lime twist.

Sloe Gin Fizz

Shake the gin, lemon juice and simple syrup with ice and strain into an ice-filled highball glass. Top it up with soda, garnish with a slice of orange and a cherry and serve.

Blackthorn Martini

Stir ingredients together with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a twist of lemon peel.

Red Devil

This delicious cocktail is simple to put together and certain to be the life of the party.

Add the ingredients, in the order listed above, to an ice filled tall glass.  Leave it as is or give it a gentle stir and then garnish.

The Millionaire

The Millionaire Cocktail is a classic cocktail that has stood the test of time. This is the original Millionaire Cocktail from the 1930's Savoy Cocktail Book.

Pour all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
